How to form Question Tag (Question Tag Concept)

Question Tag क्या होता है (What is Question Tag)

जब किसी वाक्य के अंत में हम कोई प्रश्न पूछते हैं, किसी की राय जानने के लिए की वह Agree है या Disagree तो उस प्रश्न को Question Tag कहते हैं|

जैसे कि -  She has not come, has she?

 यहाँ पर “Has she” एक Question Tag है जिसका मतलब है कि “क्या वह आ चुकी है” |

Question Tag का इस्तेमाल generally हम Spoken English में करते हैं|

Question Tag बनाने के नियम (Rules for forming Question Tag) –

Rule-1. Positive sentence (सकारात्मक वाक्य) में Question Tag Negative होता है |

        e.g. She has come, hasn’t she?

        Negative Sentence (नकारात्मक वाक्य) में Question Tag Positive होता है |

        e.g. She has not come, has she?

NOTE – अगर sentence में never, hardly,seldom,scarcely, rarely, barely का इस्तेमाल होता है  तो Question Tag positive होगा |

      e.g. He never goes out with his friend, does he?

“Never” का मतलब “कभी नही” होता है तो यह Sentence को negative बना देता है इसलिए हम Question Tag को Positive रूप में इस्तेमाल करते हैं|

 Rule-2. वाक्य और Question Tag का काल (tense) एक जैसा होता है उसमे हम कोई बदलाव नही करते हैं|

 e.g. She has not come, has she?

 इस उदाहरण (example) में वाक्य (sentence) present perfect tense में है इसलिए Question Tag में भी हमने present perfect tense का इस्तेमाल किया है |

                                                               

Rule-3. Let’s या Let us से शुरू होने वाले वाक्यों के लिए हम Question Tag में “shall we” का प्रयोग करते हैं|

 e.g. Let’s go out for a walk, shall we?

ऊपर दिए गये उदाहरण में वाक्य “Let’s” से शुरू हो रहा है इसलिए हमने Question Tag में “Shall We” का इस्तेमाल किया है|

Rule-4.  Imperative sentence में Question Tag में हम “will you” या “would you” का प्रयोग करते हैं|

e.g. Open the door, will you?

NOTE- अगर कोई कार्य अनिवार्य नही है या कार्य को करने के लिए कोई आदेश नही दिया गया है तो हम Question Tag में “won’t you” का इस्तेमाल करते हैं|

दुसरे शब्दों में अगर किसी कार्य को करने के लिए एक polite request  की जाये तो वहां Question Tag में हम “won’t you” का प्रयोग करते हैं|

e.g. Open the door,won’t you?

Rule-5. अगर pronoun “I” का प्रयोग हो रहा है तो Question Tag में “aren’t I” का प्रयोग करते हैं|

 e.g. I am fine, aren’t I?
 

“I” के साथ Question Tag में “aren’t” का प्रयोग होता है क्योंकि “am not” की कोई contracted form नही होती है |

Rule-6. अगर कोई वाक्य “There” से शुरू हो रहा है तो Question Tag में pronoun की जगह पर “There” का इस्तेमाल होगा|

e.g. There is a dog, isn’t there?

कुछ संभावित Question Tag जो वाक्यों के साथ प्रयोग किये जाते हैं –

वाक्य (sentence)	Question Tag
He is	isn’t he?
I am	aren’t I?
Everyone has	haven't they?
He hardly/never/seldom/rarely does	does he?
let’s go	shall we?
open the door (command/asking)	will you?
Deepak goes	doesn’t he?
Shut your mouth. (impatience)	can’t you?
There is	is there?
I don’t	do I?
